Michael Scherer began their work experience as a Dentist at Restorative & Esthetic Dentistry of the Keys and Rural Health Network of Monroe County from 2007 to 2009. Michael then pursued further education and served as a Resident and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University from 2009 to 2012. Following this, they worked as a Prosthodontist and Clinical Instructor at University of Nevada Las Vegas from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they also joined Institution of Dental Advancement as a Faculty Member and started their own practice, Michael D Scherer DMD MS APC, where they worked as a Prosthodontist. Michael also held the position of Associate Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University from 2013 onwards. From 2020 to 2021, Michael served as the Chief Clinical Advisor for Implants & Prosthetics at Zest Dental Solutions. Currently, they are the Chief Clinical Officer at the same company.

Michael Scherer obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Miami in 2003. Michael then went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. Later, they completed a Master of Science (MS) in the Prosthodontics Residency Program at The Ohio State University from 2009 to 2012. Michael has also acquired several additional certifications, including being a Board Certified Prosthodontist (Diplomate) from the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2012 and obtaining dental licenses in Ohio, California, Florida, and Nevada. In 2022, they became a Board Certified Implantologist (Diplomate ABOI) from The American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry.
