Shane Bostock has extensive work experience, starting with their role as a Finishing Carpenter at Zaco Construction from 2001 to 2008. During this time, they led a team of four carpenters and was responsible for planning, material ordering, safety, and coordination with other trades.
From 2008 to 2009, Shane worked as a Plumber at MTD.
In 2010 and 2011, they worked as a Yard Hand at Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers.
From 2012 to 2013, Shane worked as an Engineering Summer Student at Aurora Engineering Ltd., reviewing process and implementation diagrams and performing load calculations for electrical layouts.
In 2014, they completed a 12-month Electrical Engineering Internship at Enerflex Ltd., where they designed and drafted control panels for compressor stations.
From 2016 to 2018, Shane worked at Cranesmart Systems as both an Embedded Software Engineer and a Software Engineering Manager. In these roles, they designed and implemented low-level modules, developed applications, and led a team in developing, testing, and supporting monitoring applications.
In 2018, Shane joined Codan Communications as a Software Engineering Manager. Shane led a team of developers and technologists in developing features for software-defined radio for government and emergency services. Shane also implemented Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) and restructured the department.
Currently, Shane is the Director of Software Engineering at Zetron, where they lead a large cross-functional engineering team, provides technical guidance and coaching, and offers strategic and financial planning within their department.
Shane Bostock has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary, which they obtained from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy from Concordia University of Edmonton from 2003 to 2008. In addition, Shane obtained a Certification as a ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in June 2019.
