Robert J. Damstra

Robert J Damstra is a seasoned dermatologist with extensive experience at Nij Smellinghe Hospital's department of dermatology, phlebology, and lympho-vascular medicine since July 1992. As an MD PhD, Damstra leads a clinical team focused on the Lymphedema clinic within a 15-bed facility. Additionally, services are provided where specialists see patients at alternative locations, allowing access to expertise without impacting patient insurance. Prior to this role, Damstra completed a residency at University Medical Centre Utrecht from 1986 to 1992. Academic credentials include a PhD in lymphedema research from Maastricht University (2003-2009) and an MD in dermatology from Utrecht University (1979-1992), with ongoing education at the Academy Medical Specialists University of Tilburg.
