Favour Akinjiyan

Favour Akinjiyan is an MD/PhD candidate at Washington University in St. Louis, with a PhD in Genetics and Genomics completed in July 2023, focusing on cancer biology and extracellular matrix protein biology. Anticipating the completion of the MD in 2025, Favour has gained extensive research experience as a Postbaccalaureate Scholar at Novartis and as a research assistant at New York University, where investigations included the evolutionary relationships of Bicoid protein in Drosophila. Additionally, Favour has volunteered in patient advocacy roles and has participated in various internships and research positions, contributing to significant projects at institutions such as Stony Brook Medicine, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Favour holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from New York Institute of Technology and graduated from Dowen College in Nigeria with a high school diploma.
