Rand Waltzman

Advisor, Public Sector at Zignal Labs

Rand Waltzman is currently an advisor for the public sector at Zignal Labs. Prior to this, they were a senior information scientist at the RAND Corporation from January 2017 to December 2020. From September 2016 to December 2016, they served as the chief technology officer in Washington D.C. for the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University. From June 2015 to August 2016, they were the associate director of research for the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University. Rand has also been a program manager in artificial intelligence for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from June 1989 to June 1991, and a faculty research assistant for the University of Maryland, Department of Computer Science from September 1985 to May 1989.

Rand Waltzman received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, an MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington, and a BA in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
