Alex Speirs

Alex Speirs has a diverse background in communications and journalism. They are currently the Head of Communications at Zilliqa, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Marketing Officer at BCDLT starting in March 2022. From January 2020 to March 2022, they were the Head of Communications at Bitcoin Association.

Before their work in the cryptocurrency industry, Alex gained experience in journalism. They held various roles at The Legal 500 (Legalease), including Editor in Chief - GC Magazine from November 2017 to January 2020, Editor - GC Magazine from December 2016 to November 2017, and Editor & Features Writer from March 2016 to December 2016.

Prior to that, Alex was the Editor in Chief at 2on4 Sports from September 2013 to April 2018. They also worked as a Business Journalist at the New Zealand Herald from January 2013 to April 2016 and at NZ INC. from November 2012 to May 2015. Additionally, they served as a Marketing Coordinator at Talegent from June 2012 to November 2012 and as a Media Consultant at TXT2GET from April 2010 to June 2012.

Alex's career in media began as a Journalist at Action Media (Techday) from April 2006 to April 2010.

From 2009 to 2012, Alex Speirs attended The University of Auckland, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on Accounting.
