Indy Hurt

Indy Hurt is an experienced professional in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data science, currently serving as President of the Cartography and Geographic Information Society since April 2018. Hurt has held various leadership roles within the organization, including Vice President and Director on the Board of Directors. In addition to these roles, Hurt leads Geospatial Data Efforts at Zillow Group and previously managed GIS and data science initiatives for Gap Inc.'s Global Real Estate division. Academic background includes a Ph.D. in Geography from UC Santa Barbara and a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Redlands. A strong foundation in GIS was established through roles such as GIS Research Analyst and Instructor at various institutions, including Esri and UC Santa Barbara.
