Derek Paton

Derek Paton has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Derek began their career as a Radio Technician at Storno in 1981, where they were responsible for designing and deploying Public Safety radio systems. Derek then worked as a Senior Radio Engineer at RAC Motoring Organisation from 1987 to 1995. In 1995, Paton joined Mikom USA - Allen Telecom as a Market Segment Manager. Derek went on to hold various managerial positions in companies such as LGC Wireless and ADC Telecommunications, where they served as Managing Director for their wireless divisions in the Asia Pacific region. Paton also worked at Zinwave as the VP for Asia Pacific and later as President International. Derek then joined Cellular Asset Management PTY as the Managing Director, overseeing telecom-related activities for clients such as Westfield and VHA. In 2017, Paton returned to Zinwave as the Senior VP for Channel and Business Development.

Derek Paton attended Kirkcaldy High School from 1978 to 1981. Derek then went on to study Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Dundee from 1982 to 1985, where they earned a degree called HIGHER SCOTEC.
