Eric Cofer

Eric Cofer has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Eric is currently working as a Senior Manager of Data Engineering at Zip Co. Prior to that, they held various senior roles at PlayStation from 2017 to 2022, including Senior Engineering Manager and Data Platform Engineering Manager. At PlayStation, they focused on implementing customer-focused data technology solutions using cutting-edge technologies across the AWS big-data ecosystem.

Before their time at PlayStation, Eric worked at Intuit for nearly a decade. Eric started as a Staff Data Engineer and eventually became a Senior Data Engineering Development Manager. During their time at Intuit, they led projects utilizing AWS and played a pivotal role in achieving over 365 days of data SLA by tuning the entire data stack. Eric also managed a team of ten engineers responsible for a full-stack data/analytics solution leveraging Hadoop and HP Vertica.

Prior to Intuit, Eric worked as a Group Data Services Development Manager at Accredited Home Lenders, where they oversaw the development of data services. Eric also worked as a Training Specialist - Informatica at Infocrest Solutions and as a Pre/Post Sales Technical Consultant at Data Advantage Group, Inc.

Eric Cofer obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Bryant University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications in Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) and Python Data Structures from Coursera in May 2017.
