Nina Hua

Nina Hua has extensive work experience in the field of data science. Nina is currently working at Zip Co as a Senior Data Scientist, starting in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Zip Co as a Data Scientist II from January 2022 to September 2022.

Before joining Zip Co, Nina worked at ZS as a Data Scientist from October 2019 to December 2021. At ZS, they developed proof-of-concept Machine Learning models to predict patient events and created account target lists using tree-based models.

Nina also has previous experience as a Data Science Intern at NakedPoppy from November 2018 to June 2019.

In addition, they worked at the University of Texas at Austin as an Undergraduate Research Assistant from January 2015 to June 2018, where they studied the changes of the human oral microbiome and conducted hypothesis testing. Nina also served as a Teaching Assistant during the same period.

Furthermore, Nina worked as an Office Assistant at the Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science from June 2015 to May 2018.

Lastly, they worked as a Next-Generation Sequencing Intern at CNS Inventors: Next-Gen Sequencing iTeam from June 2017 to August 2017.

Nina Hua completed their Bachelor's Degree in Public Health/Biostatistics and Health Informatics from The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2018. Nina then pursued a Master's degree in Data Science at the University of San Francisco from 2018 to 2019. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Elements of Computing Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2018. Nina also completed the Deep Learning - Part I course from Data Institute in December 2018. Furthermore, they pursued the Natural Language Processing Specialization from Coursera in March 2021 and the DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer course from Coursera in January 2023.
