Eugene McGuinness

Eugene (Gene) McGuinness currently serves as the Director of Flight Operations and Head of Flight Test at Zipline, where responsibilities include overseeing strategic development, coordinating operational implementations, and ensuring compliance with regulations for new capabilities. Prior to joining Zipline, McGuinness spent over 24 years with the U.S. Coast Guard, culminating in the role of Program Manager for Fast Response Cutter Acquisition, leading a 90-member team managing a $4 billion acquisition program. Other key positions included Deputy Program Manager for the Boat Acquisition Program, Chief Maintenance Pilot, and Director of Engineering and Logistics, showcasing extensive expertise in engineering, logistics, and aviation operations. McGuinness holds multiple master's degrees in engineering management and quality systems management, as well as a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
