Kelly Watermeyer

Kelly Watermeyer is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in developing user interface designs and implementing various software systems.

In their most recent role at Zipline, starting in 2022, Kelly works as a software engineer.

Prior to that, at World View Space from March 2022 to October 2022, they built a ground control desktop application from scratch, supporting stratospheric ballooning operations. They were responsible for delivering the entire user interface design and used tools such as React, Typescript, Electron, Git, and Balsamiq.

From June 2021 to March 2022, working at Volansi, Kelly served as a senior software engineer. They implemented a front-end sensor calibration feature in the ground control station and led the design and full stack implementation of a simulation web app for automated tests. They also streamlined and modernized the user experience for various GCS operations.

During their time at Insitu Inc. from March 2018 to May 2021, Kelly worked as a software engineer, focusing on real-time flight control of unmanned aircraft. They presented technical software design documents to senior leadership and contributed to a new and improved software deployment mechanism.

At Gorge Networks, starting in January 2017 and ending in March 2018, Kelly designed and implemented a new order system and developed a VoIP fraud detection utility. They also had an internship role where they designed and developed a provisioning tool to migrate customer accounts.

In their internship role at Pertino from May 2015 to August 2015, Kelly gained network programming experience and helped develop a firewall detection module.

Kelly Watermeyer earned a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Regis University from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Regis University from 2014 to 2016. Before attending Regis University, they studied Mechanical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Kelly obtained a Part 107 Remote Pilot License Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in December 2018.
