Rafa Cantero

Rafa Cantero has worked in the field of data science since 2017. Rafa began their career as an intern at Talentium Inc., where they headed the development of the front end using SAPUI 5 and designed and deployed the SQL database. In 2018, they became the Solution Design Lead at Synerbyte Ltd., where they led a team of 5 engineers in creating an AI powered chiller efficiency system for large-scale commercial and industrial buildings. Rafa was directly in charge of the design and deployment of the AI pipeline and led the team in charge of developing both the software and hardware of the product. In 2020, they began working at Zippia, where they took on the roles of User Analytics and Business Intelligence and Data Scientist. As User Analytics and Business Intelligence, they led the data collection, cleaning, and visualization of multiple business intelligence projects that directly affect company revenue. Rafa conducted user lifetime value analysis for different group segments and created the alert and tracking system for email volume and user engagement metrics. As a Data Scientist, they used data from millions of resumes to help connect job seekers to careers that best match their needs. Rafa built NLP solutions to better understand resume data and created automatic scrapers to collect large amounts of unstructured data. Rafa also began working at Ready Set in 2020, where they took on the role of Data Scientist. In this role, they conducted analysis on their library of advertisements with the goal of finding what their most successful ads have in common. Rafa designed and deployed their data and analysis pipeline and conducted regression and model analysis on their expanding library of ads.

Rafa Cantero attended the University of the Philippines from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
