John Lauer is the CEO and co-founder of Zipwhip, a company that provides software that enables two-way text messaging from landline phones. Prior to Zipwhip, John was the CEO of Simplewire, one of the mobile industry’s first text messaging aggregators. John was also the VP of Sales at OpenMarket, where they drove revenue to $360M annually. John has been in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years. John began their career as the CEO of Rootlevel, a company that provided software and services to the telecommunications industry.

John Lauer studied business and computer science at the University of Michigan. John also attended Bloomfield Hills Model High School.
