Lucas McDermott

Lucas McDermott has a diverse work history, starting as a Bartender at Hyperion Field Club in 2014. Lucas then interned at Zirous in 2015, where they gained experience in Java, AngularJS, and SQL while working on developing a new organization application. In 2015, Lucas also served as the Vice President of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, where they were responsible for internal affairs and maintaining a positive chapter environment.

In 2017, Lucas interned at Kingland Systems as an Advanced Software Engineer. Lucas worked on a team to develop a micro service that allows manipulation of hierarchical information using a graph database.

In 2018, Lucas joined EngineeringPeople as a Software Engineer until 2020. In this role, they contributed to various software engineering projects.

In 2020, Lucas joined Zirous again, this time as a Senior Application Developer. Lucas worked on developing applications and enhancing their functionalities.

Most recently, starting in May 2023, Lucas McDermott joined VAEZR Studio as a Senior XR Engineer.

Lucas McDermott began their education in 2014 at Morningside University, where they studied Management Information Systems, General for one year. In 2015, they transferred to Iowa State University and continued their studies in the same field. However, they did not complete a specific degree during this time. From 2021 to 2023, Lucas attended Iowa State University once again, pursuing a Master of Human Computer Interaction with a focus on Computer Software Engineering.
