MaKenzie Clemons

Director of Research & Technology at Zirous

MaKenzie Clemons has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. MaKenzie started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Cerner Corporation in June 2014, where they developed a desktop application and created the UI for an award-winning iOS app. In August 2014, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Vanderbilt University's Department of Biological Sciences. MaKenzie then joined The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business in December 2015 as a Graduate Student, pursuing a Masters in Business Analytics and completing core courses in various analytical fields. MaKenzie continued to expand their skills at Zirous, where they held multiple roles starting in June 2015. These roles included Data Engineer, Senior Application Developer, and ultimately Director of Research & Technology, contributing to the development of tailored solutions, best practices, and delivering top-notch service and support to clients.

MaKenzie Clemons completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree with a major in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, which they attended from 2011 to 2015. MaKenzie then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Business Analytics from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, where they studied from 2016 to 2019.

In addition to their formal education, MaKenzie has obtained several certifications. In March 2016, they earned the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer certification from Oracle. MaKenzie also obtained the HDP Certified Developer certification from Hortonworks in October 2015. More recently, in February and March 2023, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate certifications, respectively, from Microsoft.
