Bethany Smith

Bethany Smith is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Zoological Society of London since May 2023, following a comprehensive academic and research career in wildlife conservation. Bethany completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Wildlife Conservation at Nottingham Trent University, where involvement as a PhD student lasted from January 2020 to August 2023. Prior to this, Bethany engaged with the Mammal Society, serving as both Student Officer and Data & Information Officer from October 2018 to August 2023. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a Master's by Research in Ecology, Evolution & Conservation from Imperial College London. Research experiences encompass studies on the impacts of humans on large carnivores, environmental DNA surveys for water voles and American mink, and community ecology in various ecosystems, demonstrating a strong commitment to ecological research and conservation efforts.
