Byungsoo Kim

Byungsoo Kim is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as a Staff Engineer and Engineering Manager at Zoox, focusing on behavior prediction since October 2023. Prior to this role, Byungsoo founded and led Motion2AI as CEO from 2018 to October 2023, specializing in AI sensors for optimizing warehouse operations. Earlier experience includes a position as a Software Engineer at Zippy, where responsibilities encompassed computer vision and kinematics for last mile delivery vehicles, and as a Sr. Computer Vision Scientist at DAQRI, contributing to augmented reality advancements. Byungsoo also completed a research internship at Microsoft and held a Graduate Student Research Assistant role at the University of Michigan, where both a Master's and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science were obtained. Education was initiated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
