Christopher Nalevanko

General Counsel at Zoox

Christopher Nalevanko is currently the General Counsel at Zoox. Prior to this, they served as Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property at Amazon and Amazon Web Services from September 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they were responsible for patent, copyright, trade secret and other intellectual property issues related to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon's cloud computing technologies. This included portfolio management, third-party threat assessment, litigation support, license negotiation and drafting, M&A due diligence, standards participation, and open source analysis.

From November 2009 to September 2014, Nalevanko was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis. As a partner in Kirkland's litigation and intellectual property groups, they managed and handled all stages of litigation and pre-litigation analysis involving numerous complex technologies. Christopher also ran general litigation matters, for example, involving contract disputes, non-compete violations, and trade secret claims, including first chair trial experience in which they successfully obtained a preliminary injunction and successfully arguing motions to dismiss.

In 2014, Nalevanko was selected as Washington, D.C. "Rising Star" in Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers magazine. Some of their representative matters include: Lucent Techs. and MPT v. Microsoft Corp., TecSec, Inc. v. IBM, Summit 6 LLC v. Facebook Inc.

Christopher Nalevanko holds a Doctor of Law from The George Washington University Law School, where they graduated with high honors. Christopher also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
