Erik Reppel

Erik Reppel has a diverse work experience history. Erik is currently working at ZORA, where they have held the positions of Head of Engineering since January 2023 and Head of Data from October 2021 to January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Clubhouse as a Staff ML Platform Engineer from August 2021 to October 2021. Before joining Clubhouse, Erik Reppel spent several years at Coinbase, where they held multiple roles. Erik was an Engineering Manager - ML Platform from October 2020 to August 2021, a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer from April 2020 to November 2020, and a Machine Learning Platform Engineer from July 2018 to April 2020. During their time at Coinbase, they built Coinbase's internal machine learning platform, worked on an NLP model for content-based curation using BERT transformer models and categorical gradient boosting trees, and contributed to the streaming events backend from mobile and web clients. Prior to Coinbase, they had internship experiences at General Fusion as a Software Engineering Intern in 2016 and at Intuitive Surgical as a Software/Data Intern in 2015. Erik Reppel also had a software engineering intern position at Coinbase in 2017.

Erik Reppel attended Port Moody Secondary from 2008 to 2012, but did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study during that time. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2018, Erik earned a Bachelor of Software Engineering (B.SEng.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Victoria.
