Burcin Acan

Burcin Acan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Burcin started their career as a Sales Manager at Merkezi Guvenlik Sistemleri in 1996. Burcin then worked as a Lecturer at the Turkish Naval Academy before joining Nortel Networks in 1999. At Nortel Networks, they held various roles including Product Manager and Sales Manager. Burcin introduced Nortel Networks' WLAN product family to the Turkish market and was responsible for GSM/CDMA product families.

In 2004, they joined Turkcell where they worked as a Project Manager, Business Development Expert, and Head of M2M Products Unit. Burcin led the introduction of Mobile Payment and NFC in Turkey and created a partner and merchant ecosystem. Burcin also served as the Act. Head of Mobile Finance Division, leading mobile commerce business and handling mobile financial services.

Burcin then joined Turk Telekom in 2013 as the Business Development Group Manager. Burcin'sresponsibilities included cross-sector business and solution development in the IoT/M2M field, including areas like Smart City, Smart Home, and Connected Car. Burcin was responsible for retail sector business development.

In 2014, they became a Startup Mentor at Turk Telekom Pilot. Burcin provided guidance and support to startups.

In 2017, they joined Zorlu Energy Group as the Smart Systems Group Manager. Burcin'sresponsibilities included managing Turkey's leading Charge Point Operator ZES and directing R&D projects of Zorlu Energy & Oedas. Burcin was involved in various business and solution development areas such as Electric Vehicles, EV Charging Network, Smart City, and Renewable Energy Solutions.

In 2022, they became the Deputy General Manager Smart Systems & COO Turkey at Zorlu Energy Group, overseeing operations and leading the smart systems division. Burcin also assumed the role of Deputy General Manager & COO at ZES.

Throughout their career, Burcin Acan has demonstrated expertise in areas like smart systems, business development, IoT/M2M, and mobile commerce. Burcin has successfully managed projects, led innovation, and developed new business opportunities in the technology and energy sectors.

Burcin Acan has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronics & Telecommunication from Istanbul Technical University, which was earned from 1991 to 1995. Burcin then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Electronics & Telecommunications from Istanbul Technical University from 1995 to 1997. At the same time, they also pursued an MBA in Business Administration from Boğaziçi University from 1995 to 1997. More recently, in 2016, they attended INSEAD and completed a program in Strategic Management focused on Business Strategy.
