Ryan Gao

Ryan Gao currently serves as the Head of the ZTE Data Protection Compliance Department, where responsibilities include establishing a global privacy and data protection system, overseeing compliance governance, and managing incident response. Ryan has contributed to various influential publications related to data protection and has drafted several national standards in information technology. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of Strategic Planning & Compliance at China UnionPay, focusing on strategic cooperation, data management, and public relations, as well as a role as a Senior Researcher and Assistant Director at Shenzhen Standard Technology Research Institute, concentrating on technical and product standards and intellectual property management. Ryan holds a Master’s degree in Optical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University.
