Ashish Andrew Kumar's work experience spans from 1995 to present. In 1995, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories, where they engaged in industrial R&D targeting global leadership in key technologies. In 1996, they became an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Brown University, where they led computational research on materials challenges and published 25 research articles and two chapters in books. In 1999, they joined McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager, where they developed and executed transformation programs with senior leadership at Fortune 500 companies. In 2004, they became Executive Director and GM of Strategy, Marketing and Services at Dell, where they led the development and launch of an Enterprise Solutions and Services strategy. In 2008, they became Chief Operating Officer of Americas at Google, partnering with Americas leadership to execute strongly through the downturn. In 2009, they joined Microsoft as a Global Sales and Marketing leader, leading the turnaround of sales to Enterprise and SMB segments globally. In 2012, they co-founded and advised PocketSuite, Edfinity, Xallent, and Simple Intentions. Finally, in 2014, they co-founded and became Chief Executive Officer of Zunum Aero, launching a pioneering venture to develop breakthrough hybrid electric commercial aircraft.

Ashish Andrew Kumar has a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
