Sophie Heading

Sophie Heading is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership roles focused on global risks, geopolitics, and thought leadership. Currently serving as the Head of Thought Leadership and Editorial at Zurich Insurance since May 2025, Sophie previously held the position of Global Risks Lead at the World Economic Forum from March 2022 to March 2025, where primary authorship of the annual flagship Global Risks Report for 2023 and 2024 was achieved. Prior experience includes serving as the Global Head of Geopolitics at KPMG from September 2016 to January 2022, where strategic scenario planning and risk management were emphasized. Sophie's earlier roles at KPMG included Associate Director and Manager within the Global Brexit Centre of Excellence, focusing on geopolitical risks and the complexities stemming from the UK's exit from the EU. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree with distinction in Behavioral Sciences from The London School of Economics and participation in the Sustainable Leadership Program at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
