Samantha Finn has had a varied work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Research Associate at Zymo Research Corporation, where they are working to develop point-of-care diagnostic tests for various cancers using epigenetics techniques. From 2018-2021, they were the Lab Manager of the Kriegsfeld Lab, where they were responsible for safety oversight, controlled substance usage and compliance, mouse colony management, expenditure reporting, and invoice processing. In addition, they lead and collaborated on a number of research projects on topics ranging from the consequences of prenatal circadian disruption on offspring development to novel light therapies for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease-like pathology in mice. Samantha also presented their work as a Research Assistant in the Kriegsfeld Lab on chronic psychological stress during pregnancy and its effects on the mother, offspring, and placenta as an honors thesis to UC Berkeley's Department of Integrative Biology in May, 2019. Prior to that, they were a Research Assistant in the Liu Lab from 2016.

Samantha Finn graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology. Samantha began their studies there in 2015.
