Luis Saldana

Luis Saldana, MD, MBA, FACEP, is the vice president of clinical strategy at Zynx Health. In this role, he is responsible for supporting clients’ optimal utilization of Zynx Health clinical decision support software and service offerings. He works closely with executive leaders, clinical teams, and other staff to demonstrate how the Zynx products, tools, and services can support organizational strategy through improvements in clinical practice and outcomes.

Dr. Saldana is an accomplished physician digital executive, consultant, and leader who served for several years at Texas Health Resources in the role of chief medical informatics officer, during which time the organization was recognized for excellence in the use of Health IT and EHR for achieving organizational value. He has also served in the same role at LogicStream Health and was a senior advisor for KPN Health as well as consultant for numerous health systems and health IT vendors. Dr. Saldana is passionate about leveraging technology to improve care delivery and outcomes for patients, and he has been active in national initiatives to develop tools to drive improvement in patient care quality and safety through health information technology and clinical decision support.

Dr. Saldana is co-author of the current edition of the HIMSS Guidebook: Improving Outcomes with Clinical Decision Support: An Implementer’s Guide, a widely recognized text in the field. He is an emergency physician who practiced clinically for decades, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
