Project Prometheus

Jeff Bezos, stepping away from an operational role since leaving Amazon in 2021, is now co-CEO of Project Prometheus, an AI startup focused on improving manufacturing. The company, which is already well-funded with $6.2 billion in investment, has nearly 100 employees, including staff from OpenAI and DeepMind. Bezos is joined by co-founder Vik Bajaj, a physicist and chemist with experience at Google X and Alphabet's Verily. Read More

Meta

AI luminary Yann LeCun, a professor at NYU and a Chief AI Scientist at Meta, is planning his exit to launch a startup focusing on his world models research. Meta's AI unit is struggling with internal chaos despite a major revamp, including a $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI, as their Llama 4 models fell behind rivals. This upheaval follows CEO Mark Zuckerberg's effort to address concerns that the tech giant is being outpaced in the AI race. Read More

Walmart

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon, who began his career unloading trucks in high school, is retiring after nearly 12 successful years at the retail giant's helm, a period during which revenue nearly doubled. Having also led Sam’s Club and Walmart International, the 59-year-old leader is passing the baton to John Furner, Head of U.S. Operations. Furner, who started as an hourly associate in 1993, will be expected to leverage his "digital acumen" to drive further growth. Read More

In another blow to Apple, which is still overhauling its design team after Jony Ive’s 2019 exit, rising star Abidur Chowdhury, key designer of the iPhone Air, has departed. His exit for an unknown AI startup comes as the iPhone maker faces internal changes and prepares for the 2027 release of a second-generation iPhone Air. Read More

SiriusXM Holdings, the live and curated programming powerhouse, has tapped Zac Coughlin as its next CFO, effective January 1, 2026, succeeding Tom Barry. Coughlin brings three decades of financial leadership, including roles at PVH Corp. and Nike's Converse, making him ideal for strengthening margins and balance sheet discipline. Read More

Verizon

Focused on strengthening market leadership and growth through AI and digital acceleration, Verizon has appointed Alfonso Villanueva as Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, effective November 20, 2025. Villanueva brings decades of global leadership experience, including strategic roles at PayPal, McKinsey & Company, and as CEO of Albar Court Ventures. His role will be pivotal in scaling innovation and technologies to shape Verizon’s next chapter of growth. Read More

UnitedHealth Group’s care delivery arm, Optum Health, has appointed Krista Nelson—formerly its Chief Operating Officer—as its new CEO. Nelson, who has been with UnitedHealthcare since 2009, brings extensive experience as the company faces rising medical costs and weaker-than-expected financial performance.
