1. EV Startup Canoo Appoints Former Diplomat Josette Sheeran as President
Electric vehicle manufacturer Canoo named Ambassador Josette Sheeran as President on July 26, effective immediately. She had presviously served on the Canoo Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee and the Compensation Comittee. The company is actively looking to fill that role.
2. Talkspace Names Erin Boyd as Enterprise Chief Growth Officer
On Thursday, Talkspace that it’s appointing Erin Boyd to Chief Growth Officer, Enterprise, effective August 2. Boyd will be responsible for driving growth and delivering differentiated solutions and capabilities to Talkspace’s Enterprise customers in this newly-created role. It also signals Talkspace’s intention to grow its B2B and enterprise franchises.
3. Headspace Taps Intuit Leader as CTO
Headspace will have a new Chief Technology Officer, Krithika Swaminathan, starting August 11. Swaminathan brings years of tech experience, most recently with Intuit, where she was the VP for Artificial Intelligence. Swaminathan's new role will be critical to help Headspace continue to innovate its platform and further differentiate its services from competitors as it seeks to carve out a larger marketshare.
4. Clearbit Scores a New Finance Chief as It Rapidly Scales
Marketing Intelligence software startup Clearbit has brought Derek Schlicker on board as its new Chief Financial Officer. Schlicker joins from SaaS GRC provider Quantivate and brings deep financial, operational and M&A expertise to the startup that has grown 50% in 2021 alone.
5. General Motors Picks New Leader For GM Ventures
General Motors has tapped Kent Helfrich as the new head of its venture arm, which invests in automotive-related startups creating solutions that can be leveraged in GM’s vehicles, facilities, and businesses. Helfrich has a lengthy background in electrical engineering and currently serves as GM’s Executive Director of Advanced Technology and Partnerships.

6. Former Waymo Tech Lead Joins Team at Iron Ox as First Director of Robotics
Former Waymo and Google technical lead David Silver has joined the team at Iron Ox as its first-ever Director of Robotics, the company announced on Tuesday. He will be responsible for leading and immediately scaling up the robotics team as the startup prepares for a period of hypergrowth.

Peraton has named ex-Booz Allen leader Rebecca McHale as its new Chief Information Officer. As CIO, McHale will face the challenge of intergrating both of its multi-billion dollar acquisitions' technologies into its own systems as it seeks to grow its offerings as a capability integrator and transformative enterprise IT provider.
9. Slice Taps Jayant Mittal as New CFO
Jayant Mittal has joined Slice, a tech platform that powers the largest network of pizzerias nationwide, as its new CFO. Mittal previously served as the Director of Worldwide Corporate Development at Amazon and will play an integral role as the company continues to scale and reaches over $1 billion in annual pizza sales.
10. VF Corp’s Venture Foundry Selects Isaiah Steinfeld as Entrepreneur-In-Residenc
VF Corporation, the fashion and retail powerhouse behind Vans, Supreme, and The North Face has picked ex-Nike exec Isaiah Steinfeld as its new Entrepreneur-in-Residence. While at the VF Venture Foundry, Steinfeld is working on his platform, called Wild Scout. The startup is a discovery engine designed to help parents find, plan, and schedule outdoor activities.
