Ulises Cervantes-Pimentel has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Ulises began their career in 1989 as a System Analyst at Bank of Mexico, where they remained until 1994. In 2000, they joined Wolfram Research as an Algorithms and Kernel Developer and Technical Consultant, holding this role for 15 years. Since 2015, Ulises has been associated with 1010data, initially working in Data Visualization and later becoming a Principal Software Development Engineer specializing in Big Data Visualization.

Ulises Cervantes-Pimentel began their education in 1986 at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Mathematics and Computer Science. Ulises completed their degree in 1990. Later, from 1994 to 2002, Ulises attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studying Computational and Applied Mathematics. It is unknown whether they obtained a degree in this field during their time at this institution. Additionally, Ulises has obtained two certifications from Wolfram U. in machine learning in the Wolfram Language, one in May 2023 and another in July 2023.
