Chris Hyland is the Senior Manager of Internal Communications at 23andMe. Chris has over ten years of experience in communications and has held several senior positions in the field.

Chris Hyland began their career in 2006 as a shipping and receiving clerk at SanDisk. Chris was promoted to Manager of Employee Communications and Recruitment Branding in 2011. In this role, they were responsible for developing the company’s global internal communication strategy and instituting communication channels. Chris also operated in a Communication Strategist role, supporting executive-driven initiatives such as the company’s vision, mission, values, M&A activities, and product launches.

In 2016, Chris left SanDisk to join Acxiom as the Sr. Manager of Internal Communications. In this role, they developed and executed the company’s internal and external promotion strategies and tactics for benefits, diversity, philanthropy, learning and development, and internal events. Chris was also the campaign manager for Acxiom’s internal and external thought leadership initiative on GDPR.

In 2018, Chris left Acxiom to join 23andMe as the Senior Manager of Internal Communications. In this role, they are responsible for developing and executing 23andMe’s internal communication strategy.

Chris Hyland has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with a Minor in Business from San Jose State University. Chris also has a Business Quality Management Certification and is an Organizational Communication Specialist.

Chris Hyland reports to Katie Watson, VP, Communications. They are on a team with Jennifer McCreight - Science Communication Senior Program Manager, Arin Assero - Director, Global Advocacy, and Andy Kill - Director, Communications.
