Avro Nelson

Avro Nelson has worked in the tech industry since 1995. Avro began their career as a Systems Administrator at ESTec Systems Corp. In 2005, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where they developed a Java-based software development framework and implemented a priority routing algorithm. In 2006, they worked as a Programmer Analyst at The Forestry Corp, where they developed using the .NET environment and MSSQL Server. In 2009, they worked as a Software Developer at ShipConstructor Software Inc., where they worked closely within a team to ensure all code was well written, peer reviewed and thoroughly tested. In 2011, they worked as a Software Developer at Schneider Electric. In 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Developer and Training Lead at Semaphore Solutions. Finally, in 2018, they became the Chief Technology Officer at 2S Water, where they led an interdisciplinary team of chemists, physicists, computer programmers and engineers in the creation of an automated Solution Cathode Glow Discharge (SCGD) system to perform atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) on aqueous solutions.

Avro Nelson attended the University of Alberta from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mathmatical Science. Avro also holds an Energy Managment Associate certification.
