Philip Gregory is the current Chief Scientific Officer at 2seventy bio. Philip has held this position since November 2021. Prior to this, they were the Chief Scientific Officer at bluebird bio from June 2015 to November 2021.

Before joining bluebird bio, Philip Gregory was a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology from December 2009 to June 2015. Philip was also the SVP Research at Sangamo BioSciences from October 2005 to June 2015.

Philip Gregory's career began as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München from December 1995 to September 2000.

Philip Gregory first attended the University of Sheffield, where they obtained their BSc in Microbiology. Philip then went on to the University of Oxford to complete their D.Phil in Biochemistry.
