Phil Chairez

Phil Chairez is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in managing and leading creative teams. Currently serving as a Senior Design Manager at 2U since August 2018, Phil oversees a remote team of over 50 creatives, guiding the development and mentorship of junior designers to principal designers. Previous roles include Creative Services Manager at IDEA Public Schools, where Phil successfully managed a comprehensive website redesign project, enhancing user experience through research and testing. Phil co-founded Barrel Roll Creative LLC, impacting website design, branding, and mobile application development after gaining experience as a Creative Director and Graphic Designer at various agencies. Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from The University of Texas-Pan American, complementing a diverse career that began with owning and running a graphic design firm.
