Zhuofeng Zhang has two years of work experience. From 2016 to present, they have been working as a Research Engineer at 3DEO, Inc. In this role, they have developed the user HMI and data gathering electrics & software package for gen 1 production printers, developed an inventory tracking and preventive maintenance scheduling system, and developed a software tool for analysis of production printer performance data. Zhuofeng has also developed a prototype level computer vision system for robotic pick and place. Prior to this role, from 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Direct Digital Manufacturing Lab at the University of Southern California. In this role, they were involved in multiple novel 3D printing-based process development projects, and designed the mechanical system of a specific Stereolithography based 3D printer prototype machine with the aid of Solidworks, tooling out all the designed parts and doing the assembly himself.

Zhuofeng Zhang obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Donghua University from 2009 to 2013. Zhuofeng then went on to obtain a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California from 2014 to 2016. In June 2020, they obtained certifications in Deep Learning Specialization and TensorFlow in Practice Specialization from Coursera.
