Liu Qiao

Liu Qiao serves as Vice President of Research & Development and Commercialization at 3M since November 2019, overseeing a team with extensive automotive industry and consumer electronics expertise. Previously, Liu held the position of Executive Director & Chief Technical Officer at 3M Japan from June 2017 to November 2019, and served as Technical Director for Software Electronics and Mechanical System Laboratory at 3M from July 2010 to June 2017. Prior experience includes General Manager and Chief Technologist at Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, co-founding the Toyota Research Institute North America, and various managerial roles at Toyota Canada Inc. Liu began a career in automotive electronics at Hitachi Automotive Products and also contributed to academia as an Assistant Professor at Beijing University of Technology. Liu holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Tohoku University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Beijing University of Technology.
