Ann Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Starting in 2007, they worked as a Project Engineer at Origin Energy until 2010. Ann then joined WorleyParsons as a Process Engineer from 2011 to 2014. Ann then joined ExxonMobil as a Project Manager (Change - SRR Coordinator) before returning to WorleyParsons as a Process Engineer. In 2017, they worked as a Senior Process Engineer at BlueScope and later as a Technical Sales Manager (Fuels Technical Manager) at Caltex Australia until 2019. Ann took a sabbatical to travel to Europe in 2019 and then became a Board Member - Secretary at Human and Hope Association Inc. from 2019 to 2020. Ann then joined Toshiba International Corporation - Oceania as a Project Manager - Energy Systems and Solutions and later as an Operations Manager - Project & Construction (Energy Systems & Solutions) from 2020 to 2023. Currently, they are the Head of Business Operations at 5B.

Ann Johnson has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Adelaide, which they obtained between 2003 and 2007. Ann then pursued further education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Executive program at AGSM @ UNSW Business School from 2018 to 2023. Additionally, Ann has completed a course in Product Strategy: Discovering, Developing, Managing, and Marketing Products as a Business at Kellogg Executive Education from 2019 to 2020.

In terms of additional certifications, Ann obtained the Developing Data Strategy certification from AGSM @ UNSW Business School in May 2022. Ann also holds certifications in Contract Claims & Administration from Toshiba International Corporation Pty Ltd - Oceania, Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, Safety in Design from Engineering Education Australia, and Earth2Mars Advanced Digital Change Diagnostics Course Certification and Earth2Mars Foundation Change Diagnostics Course Certification from Earth2Mars.
