Hannes Smárason

Hannes Smárason is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the biotechnology and investment sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member at TScan Therapeutics and a Venture Partner at 6 Dimensions Capital, Hannes has been a Senior Advisor and Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at WuXi NextCODE since 2013, contributing to advancements in genomic big data for drug discovery and precision medicine. Hannes co-founded Genomics Medicine Ireland and held multiple leadership roles at deCODE genetics, including Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Prior experience includes a tenure as Chairman & CEO of Icelandair and a consultant role at McKinsey & Company. Hannes holds an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan School of Management and dual S.B. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
