Tom Holmes has over 40 years of work experience, beginning in 1981 when they served as an Infantry Company Commander in the US Army. In 1994, they took on the role of Senior Research Engineer at Saint-Gobain. Five years later, in 1999, they became Manager of Process Engineering at Corning Incorporated. In 2003, they were hired as Director of Field Operations at Nuvera Fuel Cells, LLC, where they were responsible for the development of hybrid fuel cell-battery engines for industrial vehicles and hydrogen generation and refueling stations. In 2011, they were hired as Senior Director of Engineering at Siemens Healthineers. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed Vice President of Engineering at 6K.

Tom Holmes obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1984. Tom then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, which they completed in 1988. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1992.
