Tamara Rodems has worked in the scientific field since 2011. Tamara began their career at Vertex Pharmaceuticals as an Intern and then a Research Associate in Discovery Operations. In 2014, they started their graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they developed a semi-automated method for methylated DNA enrichment in low input samples to facilitate biomarker development in circulating tumor cells, and characterized the epigenetic mechanisms involved in class I human leukocyte antigen (HLA-I) downregulation in prostate cancer. In 2020, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the J. Craig Venter Institute, and most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Scientist I at 858 Therapeutics.

Tamara Rodems earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from San Diego State University in 2013. Tamara then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Oncology and Cancer Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed in 2020.
