Giacomo Gatelli

Giacomo Gatelli is a Senior Engineering Manager at 99designs, a company they have been with since October 2015. In their previous role as Engineering Manager, Giacomo led the team in charge of developing and maintaining design contests and 1-to-1 projects, 99designs' two main products. Giacomo also played a significant role introducing TypeScript & GraphQL at 99designs. Prior to that, Giacomo was a Senior Software Engineer at 99designs where they helped moving 99designs' main codebase from an in-house framework/ORM to Symfony and Doctrine. Giacomo joined the company as a full stack engineer in 2012 and was part of the team that lead the charge to make 99designs.com responsive. Before their career at 99designs, Giacomo was a Software Engineer at Amazon.com from 2009 to 2012. Giacomo began their career as a freelancer and open source developer in 2005.

Giacomo Gatelli has a master's degree in computer science from The University of Edinburgh, a Laurea specialistica in informatics from Università degli Studi di Trento, and a 2007 degree in informatics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
