Avantika Waring, MD

Dr. Avantika Waring has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine. Avantika is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at 9am.health since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Kaiser Permanente Washington starting in September 2016. During their time there, they held various roles including Endocrinologist, Senior Medical Director for the Commercial Business, Medical Director of the Diabetes Program, and Service Line Chief for Endocrinology. In these roles, they were responsible for customer relationships, serving as a liaison for health plan operations, and overseeing the diabetes program. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Waring worked at Stanford Health Care as the Director of Resident Education at Associated Internal Medicine Medical Group and as an Endocrinologist. Avantika also served as a Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF-San Francisco General Hospital, providing endocrine care and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Avantika Waring, MD has a comprehensive education background in the field of medicine. Avantika obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French Language and Literature from Northwestern University in 2002. Avantika went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2006 through the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Following this, they completed their residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2009.

Avantika continued their education by pursuing specialization in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Avantika undertook the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Residency Program at UCSF from 2009 to 2012.

Throughout their career, Avantika has earned several certifications. In 2009, they obtained certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2011, they became certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Additionally, they hold a Washington state medical license obtained from the Washington State Department of Health in 2016.

In 2021, Avantika enrolled in the Strategic Communications and Negotiations Seminar at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, further expanding their skill set in professional communication and negotiation.
