Avantika went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2006 through the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Following this, they completed their residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2009.

Avantika continued their education by pursuing specialization in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Avantika undertook the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Residency Program at UCSF from 2009 to 2012.

Throughout their career, Avantika has earned several certifications. In 2009, they obtained certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2011, they became certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Additionally, they hold a Washington state medical license obtained from the Washington State Department of Health in 2016.

In 2021, Avantika enrolled in the Strategic Communications and Negotiations Seminar at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, further expanding their skill set in professional communication and negotiation.
