Chris Gibson

Scientific Advisor at A-Alpha Bio

Chris Gibson is currently a Scientific Advisor at A-Alpha Bio. Prior to that, they were a Research Scientist/Engineer 3 - DNA Assembly and Sequencing specialist at the University of Washington from June 2016 to May 2021. In this role, Chris developed UW BIOFAB capabilities in DNA assembly, strain construction, and sequencing. Chris also collaborated with researchers in the UW Institute for Protein Design to identify bottlenecks in creating libraries of designed proteins, propose solutions and execute pilot-scale experiments.

From January 2013 to June 2013, Chris was a Lab Technician Assistant at Everett Community College. And from June 2012 to March 2016, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Department of Oral Health Sciences, School of Dentistry, University of Washington.

Chris has a passion for DNA assembly and sequencing and is always looking for ways to improve these processes. Chris is excited to continue their work in this area as a Scientific Advisor at A-Alpha Bio.

Chris Gibson has a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical of Bioengineering from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington.
