Denorra Carter

Director, Child & Family Services at A Second Chance

Denorra has been working for ASCI since May 2013. She has held several positions at ASCI, as a Kinship Emergency Response caseworker, a CUA compliance caseworker, a trainer for both staff and caregivers, and for the past three years as a supervisor for the following programs: CUA certification, CUA compliance, KER, Allegheny County home certification and general foster care.

Denorra has also had the opportunity to work as a graduate-level intern at ASCI with SWAN and later with recruitment in an assessment and supervision capacity. Denorra is passionate about supporting and advocating for the kinship triad and the ASCI team as a whole.

Denorra is a North Philadelphia native who takes much pride in being able to serve her community in this capacity. She graduated from Central High School in 2009 and later attended Arcadia University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013. She obtained her master’s degree in social work from Widener University in 2019.

Denorra devotes her spare time to her family.
