Nico Pedroncelli

Research Associate II at A2 Biotherapeutics

Nico Pedroncelli has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Starting in 2016, they worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at Jesuit High School, followed by a role as a Laboratory/Office Assistant at Osha Dental Sterilization Laboratory in 2018. In 2019, they became a Customer Service Representative at Associated Students UCLA.

In 2020, Nico took on several positions simultaneously. They became a Clinical Lab Assistant at Curative, where they processed COVID-19 diagnostic tests. They also served as the Head of Development at UCLA BioBusiness, a student-run organization focused on biotechnology, healthcare, and finance. Additionally, they became an Engineering Ambassador for UCLA's Samueli School of Engineering, conducting campus tours and presenting at student events.

During their time as an undergraduate at UCLA, Nico gained research experience in two bioengineering labs. In Dr. Stephanie Seidlits' neuroengineering lab, they developed MATLAB programs to analyze electrochemistry data for neural electrode coatings and cell scaffolds. In Dr. Song Li's Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory, they investigated the role of the extracellular matrix on synthetic Notch receptors in engineered cells.

In 2021, Nico worked as a Summer NSF REU Researcher in Dr. Christopher Chen's Tissue Microfabrication laboratory at Boston University, examining the roles of extracellular matrix proteins in wound healing and tissue formation.

Currently, in 2022, Nico is a Research Associate at Parallel Bio, where they contribute to bioengineering research. They have also recently started working as a Research Associate at A2 Biotherapeutics, Inc.

Nico Pedroncelli obtained their High School Diploma from Jesuit High Sacramento from 2014 to 2018. Following this, they attended UCLA from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering, with a focus on Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine.
