Julie Miller

Director Of Thought Leadership, Financial Resilience at AARP

Julie Miller, PhD, MSW, currently serves as the Director of Thought Leadership for Financial Resilience at AARP, focusing on reshaping financial resilience and promoting longevity through innovative partnerships and discussions. Prior to this role, Julie was a Research Scientist at MIT's AgeLab for a decade, specializing in longevity planning, caregiving, and wellbeing, while collaborating on community-based initiatives. Julie has also contributed to academia as a lecturer at Boston University and Northeastern University, teaching courses on human behavior and public policy. Additional experience includes serving on the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities, producing gerontology-focused documentaries, and completing a fellowship at the Rappaport Institute at Harvard University. Julie holds a PhD in Social Work from Boston College, an MSW from UC Berkeley, and a BS in Human Services from Northeastern University.
