ShinSiang Choong

ShinSiang Choong has a wealth of work experience in the Machine Learning field. Most recently, they have been a Staff Machine Learning Scientist at Abacus.AI since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Turing.com from 2021, where they led a team of 6 direct reports and drove the development of a search ranking model from scratch. Before that, they were a Data Scientist at MoneyLion from 2019, where they drove the development of Machine Learning models from scratch. ShinSiang also held roles as a Part Time Tutor at Wawasan Open University (WOU) from 2016 and a Teaching Assistant at Universiti Sains Malaysia from 2016. Theirfirst job was as a Sales Executive at Kinson Marketing Sdn Bhd from 2013.

ShinSiang Choong began their educational journey in 2010 when they earned a Bachelor of Information Technology (HONS) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in the field of Computer Engineering. ShinSiang then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia between 2014 and 2015. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2018.
