Alexandros Vegiopoulos

Alexandros Vegiopoulos is an experienced professional in the field of bioanalysis and stem cell research. Currently serving as the Head of Laboratory for Bioanalysis Operations at AbbVie since March 2019, Vegiopoulos previously held the position of Junior Group Leader at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center from June 2012 to March 2019, focusing on the interplay between metabolism and stem cells in the context of obesity-related diseases. Additionally, Vegiopoulos contributed as a trainer in transferable skills courses for PhD students at the Helmholtz Association Research Schools and served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Biosciences at the University of Heidelberg, delivering academic lectures and laboratory courses. Vegiopoulos holds a PhD in Immunology (Stem Cell Biology) from Oxford University/Birmingham University and a Diplom in Biology from Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg, complemented by a Diplom thesis from the University of Leeds.
