Christina Baumgartner

Director/ Senior Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie

Christina Baumgartner currently serves as Director and Senior Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie, leading a drug discovery team focused on developing novel immuno-oncology therapies since April 2016. Christina has also held roles as Associate Director and Principal Research Scientist II, as well as Principal Research Scientist I, contributing significantly to the field. In addition to corporate roles, Christina is an Adjunct Lecturer in Immuno-Oncology at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems since October 2021. Previous experience includes positions as Research Scientist at BloodCenter of Wisconsin, focusing on hemostatic and immunological aspects of hemophilia treatment, and as a postdoctoral fellow with a focus on T cell immunobiology at the same institution. Earlier roles include postdoctoral research at Baxter BioScience/BMT Research Center and The Scripps Research Institute, as well as a visiting researcher providing expertise in multicolor flow cytometry. Christina holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from Technische Universität Wien and a Magistra in Genetics from the University of Vienna.
