Jia Gao

Jia G. is a Senior Scientist at AbbVie since April 2021, specializing in computational vaccine design and development, particularly for COVID-19. Previously, Jia G. held multiple positions as a Graduate Student and Research Assistant at Michigan State University from August 2013 to March 2021, focusing on enzymatic reactions, biosynthesis of proteoglycans, and chemoenzymatic synthesis of glycopeptides. Jia G. achieved significant advancements in xylanase optimization and the synthesis of complex HSPG mimetics. Jia G. also completed an experiential co-op at AbbVie, where contributions included optimizing purification processes for monoclonal antibodies, and a summer internship at Pfizer.
