Junjie Zhu

Junjie Zhu currently serves as a Senior Scientist II in DMPK-BA Biomarker at AbbVie since September 2023. Prior to this, a significant tenure at the University of Pittsburgh spanned from April 2015 to June 2023, where Junjie Zhu held the position of Research Scientist, focusing on drug metabolism, biotransformation, pharmacokinetics, and the development of drug candidates for rare diseases. This role involved extensive work with LC-MS based metabolomics, ADME studies, and drug-drug interaction mechanisms. Additionally, a postdoctoral associate position was held, emphasizing the design and evaluation of ABCG2 inhibitors and DILI. Earlier experience includes leading R&D for generic drugs as a Group Leader at Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry from July 2013 to March 2015. Junjie Zhu earned a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Shandong University.
